Vinnie joined Wealdstone after watching the side train where he was groundsman. He asked if he could join in and proceded to lead the cross country runs for the remainder of the sessions.

As a squad rather than first choice player over a couple of seasons with 60 odd appearances, he played football in Finland over a summer and became a local hero. On his return he joined Wimbledon, embarking on a career that was to take him to the FA Cup final as a winner, then Chelsea, leeds United, Sheffield United, back to Wimbledon, QPR and others, as well as becoming the second Wealdstone player to become a full international captain, when he captained the Welsh team.

Vinnie subsequently became an actor with Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells, Snatch and Mean Machine among his best known films.
