Harry Darville was a member of the first ever side based in Wealdstone. A fore-runner of the present club, he was captain of The Oaks, the works team of Cogswell & Harrison when it formed in 1887. He remained with the club until 1889 when it was re-named Wealdstone FC when he joined another local side, Victoria Halls. His brother (Albert) remained with the Wealdstone club having joined a year or so later. After an absence of one season, he returned to play for and captain Wealdstone FC, playing in the first Cup Final that the club reached, the defeat to Page Green Old Boys in the Middlesex Junior Cup Final of 1893. He then left again, to join Harrow Athletic FC who were to amalgamate with Weladstone FC the following season. When the clubs 'split' and Wealdstone Athletic and the Wealdstone Fc re-emerged, Harry Darville became an Official of the club, where he remained involved for a number of years.
