

Charlie Bunce joined Wealdstone in 1935 and made an immediate impact as a goalscorer.
He was top scorer three seasons running before World War II broke out, and in common wioth a number of other players, he enlisted. Unfortunately he was captured and taken prisoner by the Japanese in Malaya. He died at the age of thirty as a Prisoner of War. He had scored 174 goals in his career with St Albans and Wealdstone.
